BOUCHIE (Moore), Cecelia Lucy "Sparkie" – Age 95 Antigonish, formerly from Mulgrave. It is with great sadness the family of Sparkie announce her passing on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish, surrounded by her loving family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mom was born in Mulgrave on September 4, 1922 to the late Thomas Edward Moore and Marcella Edwina (Leet) Moore. She lived in Mulgrave until 2009 when she moved to Antigonish, and eventfully moved to the RK MacDonald Nursing Home. Mom was a devoted catholic and loved to attend mass at St. Lawrence Parish, Mulgrave. Mom loved to walk and enjoyed playing cards and having people drop in for a visit and a cup of tea. One of her past times was watching Jeopardy. She had a passion for knitting and spent much time making winter hats, mitts, sweaters and slippers for the family. Mom worked on the Scotia Ferry, at the Tip Top Restaurant and the fish plant in Mulgrave. Sparkie leaves to mourn daughters, June Cole , Antigonish; Vera (Blaise) MacDonald, Cape Jack; Wanda (Jeff) Hadley, Nine Mile River; sons, Rick (Holly) , Edmonton AB; Joe (Lorraine) , Antigonish; Billy (Carol), Aulds Cove. Mom was also a grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. Besides her parents, she is also predeceased by husband, Vincent Anthony Bouchie; brother, Joseph Moore; sisters, Alice Moore, Grace Tremble, Isabel MacEachern, Hortense Hadley and infant sister Mildred Moore; granddaughter, Amy Cole MacIsaac. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the RK MacDonald Nursing Home and Dr. Michelle Murphy and her staff for the excellent care and compassion she received. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the RK MacDonald Nursing Home Foundation or Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Visitation will be in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place on Thursday November 2, from 4 to 9p.m. Funeral mass will be held from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave with Father Allan MacPhie officiating on Friday November 3, at 2p.m. Funeral Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
