Hebb, Mary "Florence" (McLean) – age 92 of Port Hawkesbury, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Florence was born in Ottawa Brook, Victoria County on October 19, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Rod J. and Catherine (MacDonald) McLean. Florence worked in the food industry as a cook for over 40 years, and worked until her 70th birthday at the Skye Motel in Port Hastings. She loved to bake and share her many offerings with family and friends. Everyone remembers Florence’s rolls. Florence love dancing and Scottish tunes and was also an avid hockey fan and loved to watch her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Florence looked after her own home, cooking and cleaning until illness took her away from her home in her 88th year. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury. Florence is survived by her step-children, Charles Hebb, Port Hawkesbury; Jennifer (Hebb) Beaton (Jack), Antigonish. She was, Grammy Florence to Sarah Beaton (Peter Lane), Halifax; Glenn Beaton (Kassandra), Minnesota; Great Grammy Florence to Alexandra and Mica Lane. She will be dearly missed by her many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased in 1970 by her husband, the late Fred Hebb; sister, Margaret MacNeil and brothers, John and Lawrence McLean. Visitation will be held Friday, July 31 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 138 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury with Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
