CAMPBELL, Esther Mary – 98, St. Peter’s, We regret to announce the death of Esther Mary Campbell which occurred, Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Richmond Villa. Born in Lowell, Ma., she was a daughter of the late James and Cora (Mitchell) Kinney. Esther grew up in Sydney and eventually settled in St. Peter’s.
She worked at Kaplan’s in St. Peter’s, then opened Campbell’s Dairy Freeze in 1973, which she operated until her death. Esther was a member of St. Peter’s United Church and a member of St. Peter’s Lioness, St. Peter’s Community Club, Bonnie Brae, and a partner of the MacAskill House Museum. She is survived by her son, Gary and his wife, June, grandsons, Anthony and Andrew, granddaughters, Jody and Michelle. She was predeceased by her husband, George "Jiggs", son, James, brother, George.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 2p.m. from St. Peter’s United Church, St. Peter’s, with Rev. Michael Goodfellow officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Richmond Villa Activity Dept., or to a charity of one’s choice.
