Peebles, Alonzo William – 90, Steep Creek, Guysborough Co., died Thursday, October 14, 2010, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mulgrave, he was a son of the late Ernest C. and Mary (Chisholm) Peebles.
Alonzo was a carpenter all his life and a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Mulgrave.
He is survived by children, Barbara George, Arichat; Ernie, Mulgrave; Veronica Peebles, Steep Creek; sister, Annie Meagher, Pirate Harbour; brother Earl (Anna), Mulgrave; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Nicky, brothers, Clayton, Dan and Harold.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place or charity of choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
