Connolly, Wayne Joseph – Guysborough Intervale, Age 66. Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, with his sister at his side on Saturday, February 26, 2022 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Wayne was born in Sydney on January 14, 1956 a son of Bessie (Hall) Connolly and the late John Archibald Connolly. He was a lifelong resident of Guysborough Intervale. Wayne enjoyed his long-time career as a long-haul truck driver where he met many lifelong friends. In his later years he worked in Alberta. Wayne is survived by his children, Corrine, Antigonish; Wayne Jr., Edmonton, AB; Mother, Bessie Connolly, Guysborough Intervale; Wayne Jr. works in Alberta as a self-employed truck driver which his father was very proud of. Also surviving are his siblings, Leo Kelly (Beverly), Halifax; sisters, Pheobe Cleary, Guysborough Intervale; Darlene Myers (Allan), Guysborough Intervale; Kenny Flavin (Shelley), Antigonish; Mike Carter (Annette), St. Francis Harbour; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John A. Connolly and brother-in-law Duane Cleary. Wayne’s family is thankful for the excellent health care provided to him at Guysborough Memorial Hospital, as well as homecare and palliative care. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in St. Patrick's Upper Cemetery, Guysborough Intervale. Donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
