CHANDLER, Margaret Anne- Age 72, Upper River Denys, Inverness Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Anne Chandler. She passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 12, 2016, in the ICU unit in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Inverness on June 10, 1943, she was the oldest daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Gillis) MacPhail. Anne was a faithful and involved member of the Sovereign Grace Presbyterian Church. She spent many of her working years at the Skye Motel and at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Anne was very devoted to family and friends. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved to travel. She will mostly be remembered as being a very kind, loving person who was always thinking of others. She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Raymond Chandler. Her loving children, Roger (Tanya), Patricia (Chris), Wayne (Wanda); grandchildren, Kyle, Kirk, Ethan and Evan; step-grandchildren, Joel, Matthew, Garret; sisters, Neilena (David) Smith, Becky (Brent) Austen, Marion (Bobby) Campbell; sister-in-law, Elizabeth MacPhail; mother-in-law, Ruth Chandler. Also left to mourn are many special nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by an infant sister; brothers, Darrell and Robert; special aunts, Rebecca Morrison and Alexis "Bunny" MacLennan; grandnephew, Noah MacEachern; father-in-law, Raymond Chandler. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from River Denys Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne MacLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Upper River Denys Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
