CARTER, Donald Douglas "Donnie" -39, Lakeside/Canso. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother and friend Donnie, who passed away peacefully in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso on Saturday, May 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Donnie was born in Antigonish on August 19, 1975 and was a son of proud parents, Donald Carter, originally of Queensport and Sheila Carter (Snow) of Canso. Donnie attended and graduated from Canso High School and continued with his education graduating from St. FX University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also graduated from Kentville Community College with a degree in Social Work and finally graduating with a Graphic Design degree from Halifax Campus, in which he pursued a career in and with a lifetime passion of art and creativity. Donnie was living in Halifax enjoying a successful career in the field of Design Graphics Art at Sysco Atlantic, where his passion and dedication were unmatched. Donnie’s love for art was expressed through many of his private works.
Donnie was predeceased by his grandparents, Ruby and Nick (Lawrence) Carter, of Queensport; grandfather, Douglas Snow, of Canso; uncles, Gary J. Snow, Little Dover; Wayne R. Carter, Mattie Settlement; James Douglas Jamieson, Queensport. He is survived by his mom and dad (Sheila and Don); brother, Danny Snow (Katie); nephew, Hunter; niece, Maggie; grandmother, Gertie Snow, Canso; along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Donnie left a trail of compassion and love which touched all family members and friends that he made though out his precious life. His kindness and compassion will be missed but never forgotten. Our son and brother is truly an angel that needs not to earn his wings.
