CREAMER, Vernon Douglas – 71, Brookside, Bible Hill; passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Philip’s Harbour, he was a son of the late Melvin Havelock and Hattie Mae (Cluney) Creamer. Vernon was a fish plant worker for Canso Seafood’s.
Surviving are his loving wife, Viola (Doran); daughters, Hattie Creamer, Christena (Steve) Parker, both of Canso; step-daughter, Viola George, Manchester; step-sons, John Lyons, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough; David Anderson, Half Island Cove; sisters, Cynthia Creamer-DeBoer, Red Deer AB; Margaret Ann Weir, Joyce Creamer, both of New Glasgow; brothers, Ronald, Clagary AB; Reginald, Balzac, AB; Paul, Calgary, AB; Brian, Ottawa, ON; Jody, Calgary, AB; Sylvester Jamieson, Mattie Settlement. He was predeceased by his partner, Effie Viola Hendsbee; step-son, Tommy Lyons; brother, Terrance Creamer, sister, Cathy in infancy and little Joyce.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso, from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial in Bayview Baptist Cemetery. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
