CHIASSON, Gerald Frederick "Wild Bill" - 56, Frankville, Antigonish Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, May 12, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late William and Sadie (Aucoin) Chiasson.
Bill was a heavy equipment mechanic employed with Stora Enso, Woodlands Department; a member of St. Paul's Parish, Havre Boucher, and the Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department, and a past member of the Havre Boucher Kinsmen Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and singing in church, maybe to a different tune, but singing nonetheless.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Beaton); daughters, Aaron (David) Crowell, Frankville; Jennifer, Port Hawkesbury; granddaughter, Hannah Jayne; sister, Carmella (Neil) MacIsaac, Inverness; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today and 12-1:45 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Father Robert McNeil officiating. Burial will be in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery, Inverness, at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Bill may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, St. Martha's Palliative Care or Havre Boucher Fire Department.
