CHISHOLM, John Alexander - 62, Blues Mills, Inverness Co., passed away Friday, March 17, 2006, in Aulds Cove. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Phillip N. and Catherine Florence (MacMillan) Chisholm. John was a mechanic and was formerly employed by Seaboard Liquid Carriers, Port Hawkesbury, and was a long-time employee of Mac Motors, Port Hawkesbury. He enjoyed his work, family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Donna (MacLennan); daughter, Francine (Rodney) Hawley, Blues Mills; son, Shawn (Marion), Harvey, N.B.; sisters, Jeanette (Ray) Stephens, Antigonish Harbour; Joan (Albert) Chisholm, Heatherton; brother, Donald (Anne), Lanark. John was a 'Poppie' and 'Gopie' to grandchildren, Danielle, Alexander, Kody, and Madison. He was predeceased by brothers, Francis and Bernard.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Church, Waycobah, Father Bernie MacDonald officiating, assisted by Fred Bartlett and Gordon Hunt. Burial will be in Upper River Denys Cemetery. Donations in memory of John may be made to a charity of your choice.
