CAMERON, Mary Ann - 103, Mabou, formerly of Port Hawkesbury, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005, in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Born in Alpine Ridge, Inverness Co., she was a daughter of the late John Sandy and Catherine (MacDonald) MacDonald.
She was a member of St. Mary's Parish, Mabou, St. Joseph's Parish, Port Hawkesbury, and a 50 year member of the CWL. She resided in Mabou Senior Complex for 22 years, where she was extremely happy, made many friends and had an endless flow of visitors. Prior to this, she resided in Port Hawkesbury.
She is survived by sons, Duncan (Kaye), Port Hawkesbury; Doug (Florence), West Bay Road; Roy (Chris), Antigonish; Colin (Marcella), Sydney; Alex (Judy), Brook Village; daughters, Kaye MacEachen, Port Hood; Mary (Bernie) MacNeil, Port Hood; daughters-in-law, Irene Cameron, Westville; Theresa Cameron Dooley, North Sydney. Nana is survived by 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alex; sons, Angus and John; daughter-in-law, Louise Cameron; son-in-law, Hugh P. MacEachen; sisters, Annie, Mary, Bessie, Jessie, Katie; brothers, Alex, Sandy, Angus, Dougald and Colin.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. this evening in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Her remains will then be transferred to rest in St. Mary's Church, Mabou, with visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Father Angus Morris officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury, at a later date.
