CARTER, Howard Elsworth - 85, Hadleyville, Guysborough Co., passed away Saturday, February 5, 2005, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Oyster Pond (now Hadleyville), Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Frank and Emma (Diggins) Carter. He was a laborer, fisherman, barber and known musician. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Mary Josephine Grady, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough; daughters, Marie (Jim) Delorey, Antigonish; Ann (Brian) Hadley, Vancouver, B.C.; son, Austin Carter, Hadleyville; sister, Nell Chisholm, Kitchener, Ont.; grandchildren, Robin, Steven, Michael, Heather, Joshua; great-grandson, Keats. He was predeceased by sisters, Agnes, Kay, Loretta; brother, Francis. Visitation will be held Tuesday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, St. Francis Harbour, Father Peter McLeod officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Howard may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Milford Haven Home for Special Care. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
