DeCoste, Gerard Victor - Age of 68 of Havre Boucher, Antigonish Co. Passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Gerard was born in Antigonish on September 18, 1950; he was a son of the late Victor and Margaret "Maggie" (Casey) DeCoste.
Gerard was a loving husband and father and would do a good deed for anyone. He was a member of St. Paul’s Parish, Havre Boucher, and he was well known for his infectious smile and mild mannerism. Gerard is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Loretta "Sandy" (Wendelbo); son, Christian; sisters, Dolly (Jack) Fraser, Barbara Spin, Teresa (Dennis) Kelly, Rita (Philip) Meagher; brothers, Joseph, Michael; brothers-in-law, Arthur Williams, Louis Brow; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Robert Raymond. He was predeceased by his sisters, Agatha, Kathleen, Patricia, Adeline; mother–in-law, Greta Wendelbo; brother-in-law, Butch. Special thanks to the nurses of PCU and ICU at St. Martha’s.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23 from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Havre Boucher with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund.
