Dickson, Mabel Hannah – 90, Port Hawkesbury. Passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born May 31, 1920 in Grosse Isle, Iles-de-la-Madeline, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (MacKinnon) Taker. Mabel was a homemaker and worked at Sobeys as a clerk. She was a loving wife and Mother, she was a very kind and strong woman and she will be sadly missed. She was also a founding member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mable is survived by her son, Stanley (Judy), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Cindy, Rosie, and Danny, 10 great–grandchildren, 1 great-great–grandchild also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin, granddaughter, Tammy, sisters, Mina, Rhoda, brothers, Angus, Frank, Robert, and Norman.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Grosse Isle, Iles-de-la-Madeline. Memorial donations in memory of Mable may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury or Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Grosse Isle.
