DIXON, Ruby Roseanna - 76, Port Hawkesbury, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Point Tupper, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Alice (Le Lacheur) Hayes. Ruby loved Scottish music and in her younger years she danced and won medals at the Antigonish Highland Games. Ruby had a special love and bond with all her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was playing TV bingo on Tuesday evenings. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Port Hawkesbury. She is survived by daughters, Alice (Danny) MacIntosh, Port Hawkesbury; Eileen (Scott Spence), Clayton Park; Angela (Paul) LeBlanc, Saint John, N.B.; sons, Simon, Port Hawkesbury; Charlie, New Waterford; Clyde, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Dan (Angie) MacIntosh, Cory (Allison Dorton) MacIntosh, Allison, Hailey, Dylan, D.J., Ryan, Ashley, all of the Halifax area; great-grandchildren, Cherie, Linwood; Michael, Moncton, N.B.; brother, Collie Hayes, Port Hawkesbury; brothers-in-law, Clyde Malcolm, Port Hawkesbury; John Dixon, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Margaret and Martha; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Alice Ryan, Lillian Matheson, Eileen Malcolm; sisters-in-law, Lauretta (Collie), Loretta (Danny), Peggy Hatfield (Bill); brothers, John, Mike, Harold, Earl, and Danny; granddaughter, Tanya MacIntosh; brothers-in-law, William Matheson, Collie Ryan, Tom Dixon and Hugh Dixon.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday with a vigil service at 8:30 p.m., both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Church, Port Hawkesbury, Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please.
