Wood, Ronald Seward "Ronnie" – 71, Auld’s Cove, Guys. Co. died suddenly on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish he was a son of the late John Sr. and Jessie (MacAskill) Wood. He worked as a toll collector on the Canso Causeway with the Dept of Transportation and he also fished lobster. Ronnie loved hunting, fishing, gardening and watching sports on TV. His faithful companion Jenny was not too far behind. He is survived by his daughters, Kim (Kevin) Patriquin, Port Hawkesbury; Kelly (Shane) Ryan, Regina, Sask.; sons, Kevin, Auld’s Cove; Kory (Darlene), Port Hawkesbury; Kenneth (Trina); Auld’s Cove; sisters, Mary Fougere, Linwood; Margie (Leo) Meagher, Auld’s Cove; Barbara Thompson, Cloverville; brothers, Ken (Catherine), Joseph (Chrissy) both of Auld’s Cove; Danny (Jean), Cape Jack; Vincent (Annie), Port Hawkesbury; Larry (Linda) Auld’s Cove; grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Kristina, Renae, Grace, Jorgia, Sidnee. He was predeceased by his wife, Bernadette (Cleary); sister, Laura Fougere; infant sister, Carol; brothers, Allan, Bernie, and Jackie. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7-9 p.m., and Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place, Mulgrave. Funeral mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Ronnie may be made to Auld’s Cove Fire Department or Mulgrave and Area Resting Place.
