MacDONALD, Angus John – 76, of Creignish, Inverness Co. passed away at home on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. After a lengthy battle with C.O.P.D we sadly announce the passing of Angus MacDonald. Born in Creignish, he was a son of the late Dan C. and Sarah MacDonald. Angus was retired from the Department of Transportation. He always enjoyed a good cup of tea and a competitive game of cards. His great sense of humour and practical jokes were enjoyed by everyone. During the most recent years, Angus got the most pleasure spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Stella Maris Parish, Creignish. Angus is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Catherine (Embree) MacDonald; daughters, Mardi (Mike); Cathy (Jon); sons, Robert (Barb); Frankie; brother, Frank; sister, Charlotte (John) MacLean. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Daniel, Chris, Kortney, Eric, Devlyn, Riley, Haley, Justice, Kelsey, Emma, Shay-Leigh and A.J.; great-grandchildren, Sabastian, Darnell, Jayden and Olivia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons, A.J. in infancy; David (2010); brothers, Jim, Alex, Murdock, John Duncan, Joe and Francis; sisters, Flora and Mary. Visitation will be from 7-9pm Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral Mass will be 11am Saturday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Creignish, with Father Hughie D. MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
