LUNDRIGAN, Alphonse – 77, Mulgrave, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough.
Phonse was born on June 17, 1934, in Burin NL, he was a son of the late Thomas and Sarah (Osborne) Lundrigan. Phonse was a fisherman, worked at National Sea in Canso and also at Acadia Fisheries in Mulgrave.
He is survived by sons, Alphonse Jr. (Donna) and Benjamin (Karen), both of Mulgrave; special nephew, Gerard Murray Jr; sisters, Alice and Nellie, both of NL; grandchildren, Leah, Falen, Travis, Brent, Scott and Breanna; great-grandchildren, John and Bradley; several nieces and nephews. Phonse was predeceased by his wife, Anne (Murray), brothers, Ben, Jim, Nicholas and Edward in infancy, sister, Winnie.
Cremation has taken place under the care of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral will take place at 11a.m. Wednesday, June 6, from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Nursing Department, Guysborough. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Ranjini, the nurses and caregivers of Milford Haven for the wonderful care they gave Phonse during his stay.
