RICHARDSON, Gertrude Rosetta – 84, Canso, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Hazel Hill, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Florence May (Snow) Dort. Gertrude was a homemaker all her life, where she took great pride in raising and taking care of her family. She was a member of All Saint’s Anglican Church, Canso, where she was a long-time member of All Saint’s Ladies Auxiliary. Gertrude enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles, as well as the occasional scratch ticket. Left to mourn her passing are daughters, Freda (Gordon) Johnston, Judique; Wanda (Terrance) Sullivan, Canso; Joyce (Ronald) Bouchie, Little Dover; sons, Purvis (Diana); Dale (Crystal), both of Canso; sisters, Essie MacKenzie, Milford Haven Home for Special Care; Joyce Rhynold, Waterville; Gladys Keith, Truro; grandchildren, Juanita Bissonnette, Velda Richardson, Leisa MacNeil, Tracy Gerrior, Neil Sullivan, Lois Harnish, Ronnie Bouchie, Lloyd Richardson, Chelsea and Bailey Richardson; great-grandchildren, Logan MacNeil, Jordan Bissonnette, Mitchell Harnish, Jacob Harnish, Maive Sullivan, Brianna Munroe,Hudson Bouchie, Brooklyn Munroe, Aiden Sullivan and Matthew Richardson. Gertrude was predeceased by her loving husband, Capt. Lloyd C. Richardson; daughters, Velda Mae and Yvonne; brothers, Kenneth and Basil Dort. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8, from 7-9p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral Service will be 11a.m. Monday from All Saint’s Anglican Church, Canso, with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial will follow in All Saint’s Cemetery. Immediate Family Flowers Only!
