ENGLAND, Donald Robert – 72, Sand Point, Guysborough Co. It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Donald R. England, on Friday, December 9, 2011, in the QEII Health Sciences Center, Halifax. Born in Sand Point, on March 28, 1939, he was a son of the late Ernest and Edna (Martin) England.
Beloved husband and best friend of Marie (O’Connor); cherished step-father of Dawn Ehler-Pratt (Darrell); Stephen Ehler (Lynn); Kimberly Ehler (Don); John Ehler (Jackie); June Leblanc (Paul); Evans Ehler (Wanda). Special Papa will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Mark, Nathan, Loudon, Carly, Maxwell and Emma, brothers, Herman (Shirley); Sidney (Anne); sisters, Prescilla, and Marion (Charlie), as well as many nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Edna.
Donald will be fondly remembered. Donald retired from J.I. Case International United Auto Workers local 2868 in 1999 in Hamilton, Ont. Visitation will be from 7-9p.m. Tuesday, December 13, in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Funeral Service will be 11a.m. Wednesday from St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford, with Rev. Evelyn Knorr officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements for Donald are under the care and direction of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
