MacDonald, Graham Charles - 54, Port Hawkesbury/Marble Mountain. It is with great sadness that the family of Graham MacDonald announces his passing on Monday, November 22, 2010. Born in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, England he moved to Canada at a young age. He was the son of the late Allan and Marian “Bunty” (Siddle) MacDonald. Graham worked for NuStar for many years where he had many loyal co-workers who thought highly of him. He was an electrician, miner and worked many trades throughout Canada. He had many great friends, enjoyed the outdoors and there was always multiple projects on the go.
Pappa Bear is survived by three loving children, Jarrett and Cohen both of Halifax and Lauren at home; brothers, Stuart (Patricia), Elmsdale; Ian, Marble Mountain; sisters, Fiona (Dave Dauphinee), Marble Mountain; Carole (Bill MacNeil), Mabou; Patricia (Darrell MacQuarrie), Brighton and Helen, Marble Mountain; mother-in-law, Emily MacKay, Port Hawkesbury; brother- in-law, Bruce MacKay, Hamilton, Ontario; sister-in-law, Donna Ann MacKay, Halifax; special aunt, Lydia Ross, New Glasgow; and special friend, Cathy Foster, Port Hawkesbury. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Colleen (Ross) MacDonald, brother, David in infancy, brother-in-law, Brian Windeler. He was part of a large extended family and had many great friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in St. Matthew’s United Church, Marble Mountain with Rev. Bob Lockhart officiating. Burial in Lime Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Graham may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia, St. Matthew’s United Church, Marble Mountain or St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury.
