MacDonald, Marie Edna – 95, Churchview, Inverness County. Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Edna was born in Grand Etang, Inv.Co., she was a daughter of the late Marcellin and Mary Mae (Landry) Delaney. Edna was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, Brook Village and a former member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah. She was also a former member of Bayville Senior Citizens Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Whycocomagh and Area Volunteer Fire Department. Edna married William MacDonald and they lived in Sunny Brae, Margaree, South Lake Ainslie and finally in Churchview. She leaves to mourn sons, Gordon (Barb), Whycocomagh; Billy (Mary Catherine), Brook Village; Bernie (Trish), Churchview; daughters, Marianne (Francis) MacLean, Churchview; Marie (Jack) MacInnis, East Skye Glen; daughter-in-law, Juanita MacDonald, Churchview; sister, Wilfredine (Calist) Tompkins, East Margaree; sisters-in-law, Margaret Gillis, Florence MacKinnon, Lucy Mae Delaney, Cazilda Delaney, Martina Delaney and Helene Delaney, brother, Wilfred Delaney, Grand Etang; brother-in-law, Gordon MacDonald and special nephew John Miller. Edna also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Wayne (Angie), Carl (Karen), Betty (Harold), Danny (Heiko), Dwayne, Darlene (Steve), David, Deborah (Doug), Dawna (Glen), Sarah, Brook, Margie (Richard), Shelley (Ed), Lisa (Shawn), Joanne (Bernard), Michael (Maryanne), Kelly, Lauren and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Stacey, Dawna, Daniel, Nick, Jorden, Courtney, Myah, Mitchell, Blake, Zachery, Desmond, Thomas, Marrissa, MacKenzie, Connor, Matthew, Brandon, Morgan, Cody, Jorden, Travis, Michelle, Kyle and Tyler. Edna was predeceased by her husband, William P.; daughter, Josephine Ferguson; son, Joseph, great-grandson, Richard Taylor Ferguson; son-in-law, Donald Ferguson; brothers, Philip (Mary Jane), Gerald, Arthur, Manuel, Alphonse and Patrick (Agnes); sisters, Annie Rose (Alphonse) Miller, Margaret (Archie Neil) Chisholm, Mary Helen Delaney (Alphonse Doucet); sister-in-law, Odette Delaney, brothers-in-law, John Archie, Allan, Murdock and Roddie MacDonald. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Brook Village with Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Edna to a charity of your choice.
