EAGER, Mary Eleanor - 79, Cleveland, Richmond Co., died Sunday, June 26, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born at Crandall Road, she was a daughter of the late John A and Flora (MacGregor) MacQuarrie. She was a former employee of Cornet Cards, Port Hawkesbury and a former employee of the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism in St. Peter's. Eleanor was a member of Cleveland United Church and the UCW, and was involved in the Guysborough-Inverness Presbytery. Eleanor loved her flower gardens and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, as well as her rooster collection. Surviving are daughters, Marlene, Tantallon; Joan, Bedford; sons, James (Diana), Cleveland; Wesley (Carol), Riverside; David (Margie), Hureauville; sisters-in-law, Beverly MacQuarrie, Port Hawkesbury, and Ethel Eager, Arlington, Mass.; cousin, Gordon (Jeanette) MacGregor, Mackdale; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Dale, Johnathon (Rachel), Paige (Adam) Jones, Mark; great-granddaughter, Aurora. She was predeceased by her husband, Lester; brothers, Angus, Lauchie, John Dan; sisters, Annie Blue and Evelyn Smith. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Cleveland United Church.
