Deepest and sincerest condolences from our family. Mom credits Betty's friendship as getting her through several of the hardest times in her life. Lots of lessons and laughs were had in Orangedale while doing crafts In the winter. Norman and I always tell stories about how much impact Betty had in our lives. My husband credits the hard work he puts in to our marriage to Betty and her advice about living happily together and that it takes hard work but that it's so worth the effort. She was a gifted human being and it was a privilege to have known her. She made us all feel special with her unwavering love and respect and her smile was infectious. Rest In Peace beautiful Lady.

To Betty's family: I met Betty late in her life, at the Orangedale church in Cape Breton where we spend our summers. Since I am a pianist and she was a singer, our love of music and singing forged a bond, and I would sometimes visit her at the Orangedale Seniors Home. Clearly an adventurous spirit, she shared with me about her time in India and some of her experience with Martin Luther King and the social justice movement. It was clear she had led a very interesting life, and was a vibrant, soulful elder whom I very much respected! I was sorry when she left Orangedale, and never had contact with her again. But I have never forgotten her. She will continue to be a shining light as she lives on in memory.

Hi Pat: My condolences on the loss of your mother. She certainly fought the good fight. You have been a dedicated daughter, providing for her care first hand for years and then, I assume, in a care facilitity. Now you can remember all the good times prior to her illness. Speaking from personal experience, it is still a huge adjustment. With sympathy, Lynn

My deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. My grandmother was Helen Livingstone, and was a close friend of Betty's for a lot of years. As my grandmother's sidekick for a few summers, I would visit Betty in Stoney Point with her and enjoyed her wonderful hospitality and infectious enthusiasm for everything spiritual and inspiring. I also loved to hear her operatic voice in the church choir - I can still hear her sing ‘.. your father was another inspiration with his fire and brimstone sermons .,,your mum knew all the names of all the wildflowers - amazing people - everyone loved them far and wide... My prayers are with you. Will hope to see you when the restrictions have been lifted... Paula Anderson, Baddeck

Hi Pat and Betty's Family. As you know Diane and I have known Betty since coming to Baddeck many years ago and purchasing a cottage lot from Betty and her husband Bob. We had good fellowship with them both in our church involvements and whenever we were at the cottage. And we always visited Betty after Bob passed away and always think of them both whenever we are up at the cottage. Betty and Bob were both of deep steady faith. May all of you be comforted that she is now on the heavenly side of life. Alfred & Diane

Heartfelt condolences to Patricia, the Mueller family & extended family! Betty was one of the most extraordinary human beings that I ever met! Time & space does not permit me to elaborate! Many fond memories of working as a volunteer with her at Alderwood! Her magnificent voice required a much more qualified piano accompanist than yours truly, but it did not diminish the joy that the both of us derived from those special musical moments...at Alderwood and during my visits to her beautiful log home at Orangedale. (Stoney Point Road) We blended together exceedingly well both as musicians and human beings; hence, cultivating a strong relationship! I often visited Alderwood at the end of the day spotting Betty's work shoes at the entrance to her office, thinking to myself....."I bet those shoes walked a million miles today!" When visiting Alderwood to seek out Betty, it was relatively easy to locate her, as my ears guided my footsteps to her cheerful, famous & robust laughter which occurred very often in a very remote area of the building! God was with her on many a stormy winter's day as she commuted to work from Orangedale to Baddeck in her old but reliable Valiant...singing merrily as she drove along the twisted highways! Betty was gifted with many talents & whatever she laid her hands on, it would turn to gold! We were very fortunate that Betty and Bob were called here..what they planted blossomed with such beauty, enriching the lives of so many in Orangedale and far reaching communities! I am sure that Betty & Bob continue to contribute and serve in their now Heavenly Home! Garry Watson Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Garry & Barry Watson, Baddeck, N.S.

Dear Mueller family, I saw Mrs. Mueller's name in the Herald, and figured this lady was Bob Mueller's widow. I served with Bob in what was then Inverness-Guysborough Presbytery back in late seventies. I marvel that you had your mother so long, she lived a rich life and you are in the reflections and prayers of many. May the great God who sustains us with love and compassion, be felt by all of you in this time and the years ahead. Yours most respectfully, RI Cudmore

Stewart and I offer our condolences on the passing of dear Betty. We met her at the Maplestone Villa in Halifax where Stewart conducted a church service once a month. Betty attended, escorted down by her dear faithful friend, Rose. Betty would sing the old hymns with great joy on her face and I could tell how much she loved singing. I am so amazed to read her obituary and note all her musical training. She was an inspiration to me. May the Lord bless and comfort her family and friends. Hope and Chaplain Stewart Moen

I loved Betty; and as a little girl, a teenager, and a grown woman with children of her own, I have learned so much from her, and often reflect on her as I pass through my days. She was a blessing to so many. I would guess she was a blessing to all those who knew her, received prayers from her, and food, made art out of nature, and we're simply in her presence. In life, and in death, she is loved. May peace be with all of you. Deepest sympathy to all of you. ox Lori-Ann
