Toney, Lloyd William – Age 72, Waycobah First Nations. It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our father, brother, grandfather, godfather, uncle and friend on Friday, August 2, 2019 in the Alderwood Palliative Care Unit, Baddeck after a brief battle with cancer, special thanks for his care and comfort. Born in Shubenacadie on July 10, 1947; he was a son of the late Benjamin Charles and Susan (Googoo) Toney. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend of many, he will be missed. He was a wise, patient man with a lot of trades and little words; he was a welder, carpenter, and crack filler by trade. He was a Waycobah Police Constable, private investigator, security guard in Halifax; cribbage champ, and most important he had unconditional love for everyone who entered his life; he loved to Live and Live a simple life. He is survived by his 10 children, Vanessa, Audrey, Nathan Toney; Denny Brian Googoo, Eskasoni; Cheri Brooks, Stephen, Chester, Justin W. Johnson, Lloyd and Therese Toney of Indian Brook. 21 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 godchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; his siblings, Benedict Toney, sister-in-law, Elizabeth (John) Toney; Juanita (Dan J) Paul, Grace (Joe Mike), Paul, Albert, Fabian, Jackie (Christopher), Bartholomew Toney. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his siblings, Dianne Toney, John Toney, Lena Bernard; nephew, Kevin D. Poulette; brother-in-laws, Lawrence "Lunch" Bernard, Dan J. Paul and sister-in-law, Annie Jane Toney. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday, August 8, in the New Community Centre, 15 Reservation Rd, Waycobah First Nation. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 10, from Blessed St. Katari Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah First Nation with Father Conrad Edwards officiating with cremation to follow. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
