HORNE, Catherine Jane – Age 71, of Canso, Guysborough Co. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful and special mother, grandmother, sister and aunt on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in the QEII in Halifax, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. Mom was born on Entry Island, Magdalen Islands, Que. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Hattie (Welsh) Hanlon. She is survived by her sons, Fred, Summerside, P.E.I.; James (Margaret Ann), Grand Manan, NB; daughters, Hattie (Russell), Hazel Hill; Lila (Wal), Canso; sisters, Mary Ann, Thelma (Wally), Nora (Addison), all of Canso; Joyce, Dorothy, both of Sydney; Jamie (Donnie), Dover; brothers, Tommy (Ruth), Canso; Edward, P.E.I.; Jimmy (Karen), Isaac’s Harbour; grandchildren, Edward, Heidi, Kyle, Shelby, Shaquille, Janaya, Alyssa, Stacey and Isaiah, who cherished every moment with their grandmother; great-granddaughter, Gwen, who will miss her dearly; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; companion, Ainsley; daughter, Mary; sister, Helen; brothers, Skipper and Carl. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Monday, March 26, 2018, from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
