FIRTH, Jason Ivan- Age 42, Phillips Harbour, Guysborough Co. passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of Dellas (Creamer) Hendsbee of Phillips Harbour and the late George William Firth. Jason was a fisherman who loved the water and also enjoyed hunting, but more than anything he loved spending time with his friends and his dog Rosco. The highlight of Jason’s life was he was fortunate enough to be able to visit Scotland with his mom. He met all his aunts, uncles and cousins. He enjoyed spending every minute in the place his dad came from. He was a brother and uncle to everybody. His four nieces and nephews loved him with all their hearts and he loved them back. Besides his mother, Dellas, Jason is survived his brother, Derrick Hendsbee (Kati Ehler), Phillips Harbour; his nieces and nephews, Samantha Schwartz, Alysa Schwartz, Blake Hendsbee, Colin Hendsbee; adopted father, Nick Hendsbee, Phillips Harbour; as well as numerous aunts and uncles and many friends. Jason was predeceased by his father, George Firth; paternal grandparents, James and Bessie Firth (Scotland); maternal grandparents, Ivan and Evelyn Creamer; step grandparents, Fred and Jean Hendsbee; cousin, Darcy Underhay; aunt, Grace Betti; uncles, Tony, Floyd, Hughie and Willard. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in Canso United Baptist Church, Canso and from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Queensport. Memorial donations in memory of Jason may be made to the Antigonish SPCA.
