FULLER, John Blauvelt -90, West Bay, Inverness Co., passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born on October 29, 1925, in Avonport, Kings, Co., he was a son of the late Albert S. and Edith (Pitman) Fuller. John was predeceased by his wife, Lee (Kinsman) Fuller; son, John David (Leslie) Fuller. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Carl) Zimmerman.
He attended Sir George Williams University, BA and from St. Francis Xavier University, B.Ed, Masters of Adult Education. He was last employed as Vice Principal of Strait Campus, Nova Scotia Community College, retiring at age 66. He lived his last years in West Bay with his dearest companion, a little dog named Shoo. Dad enjoyed many hobbies, painting, raising and racing Standard Bred Horses and at age 86 began writing books. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury, having served in the R.C.A.F as a Flight Sergeant , Air Gunner from 1943 to 1945. He treasured his many friends and neighbours and often spoke of his gratitude for their many acts of kindness. He also loved his Friday trips to Papa’s Pub for lunch. He wanted particularly to thank Anne Marie for her dedication, patience and loving care.
Cremation has taken place. Burial and a Celebration of Life will take place in the spring. Donations in Dad’s name may be made to the Strait Richmond Hospital or a charity of one’s choice.
