Fraser, Constance Louise (Peckham) “Connie” - 62, Halifax, formerly of Cape Breton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at home in Halifax . Born in Hamilton, ON July 16, 1948 to Edward Peckham and the late Florence (MacDonald) Peckham. Connie was raised in Cape Breton and always referred to Creignish as home. As an adult she returned to school and graduated as a Home Health Care Provider because she loved helping those that needed extra care. In addition to her father, Connie is survived by her husband, Billy; her daughter Selena and husband Roy, son, Todd and wife Nancy, brother, Danny (Judy) Peckham, sisters, Judy (Barry) Sandham, Mellisa (Marc) Peckham-Lenes, Grandchildren, Shanna, Mandi, Dyllan, and Raven, two great-grandchildren, as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. All of those she left behind will remember her gentle soul, her kind nature, her willingness to help and her compassion for others.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30th in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Creignish with Fr. Hughie D. Mac Donald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. A reception to follow at Creignish Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie’s memory to the Adsum House, Halifax.
