FERGUSON, Earl Garfield “Fergie”- 87, Whiteside, Richmond Co. died Saturday September, 22,2007 in Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Malcolm and Maude (Shannon) Ferguson. He worked at the steel plant in Sydney. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Royal Canadian Navy. After leaving the Navy, he joined the Army. After retiring from the Army, he worked in the Sobey’s warehouse in New Glasgow. Earl is survived by son Daniel (Lorraine), London, Ontario; granddaughter Carrie Addis; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife Priscilla, sister Elsie King and brother Ken Rod. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral Mass will be held at 11am Friday at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Whiteside with Fr. Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.
