FOUGERE, Gerald Francis - 86, Guysborough, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 8, 2006, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. He was a son of the late Norman and Nina (Peart) Fougere. He served for over 20 years in the armed forces. Upon his release, he worked as a welder/mechanic in the Guysborough area and remained active until his illness. He was a member of St. Ann's Parish, Guysborough. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Lynagh); sons, Norman, New Glasgow; Brian (Rachele Saulnier), Dartmouth; Gerald (Jennifer), Edmonton; daughter, Shirley (James) MacFarlane, Antigonish; Joan MacIsaac, Edmonton; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Lillian (Joseph) MacDonald; brother, John; daughters, Helen Anne, Marilyn, and Beverly. There will be no visitation by request of the family. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough, Father Jonathan Nweke officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Gerald to Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough.
