FERGUSON, Josephine Margaret - Iron Mines, Inverness Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sunnybrae, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of Marie Edna (Delaney) MacDonald, Churchview, and the late William Peter MacDonald. She lived in Whycocomagh and, following her marriage, moved to Iron Mines. Josephine was a retired cook and a devoted 27 year employee of Vi's Restaurant, Whycocomagh, and a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and Ladies Aid. She is survived by her children, Wayne (Angie), Iron Mines; Carl (Karen), Blues Mills; Betty (Harold), at home; grandchildren, Stacey, Dawna, Daniel, Courtney, Nicholas, and Jorden; brothers, Gordon (Barbara), Whycocomagh; Bernie (Patricia), Churchview; Billy (Mary Catherine), Brook Village; sisters, Marianne (Francis) MacLean, Churchview; Marie (Jackie) MacInnis, Skye Glen; sisters-in-law, Allie Mae Hope, Iron Mines; Helen Ferguson, Sydney; Juanita MacDonald, Churchview; brother-in-law, William I. Matheson, Iron Mines; uncles, Gordon MacDonald, Lake Ainslie; Wilfred Delaney, Grand Etang; aunts, Margaret Gillis, Port Hawkesbury; Florence MacKinnon, Churchview; Margaret Chisholm, Margaree; Wilfredene Tompkins, Margaree; Mary Helen Delaney, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald 'Donnie' Ferguson; twin brother, Joseph MacDonald; grandson, Taylor; brothers-in-law, Ken Hope (Iron Mines), John Ferguson (Sydney); several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Rev. Ron Sharpe officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery. Donations in memory of Josephine may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
