FROST, Harold - 77 of Grand Anse Richmond Co. passed away peacefully on January 27, 2004 at the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, NS.
Born in Balmoral in October of 1926 he was a son of the late George E. and Dolena (MacRae) Frost. He made his living as a lumberjack, sawmill owner and as a stevedore at Stora ENSO for 20 years. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1950 and fought in the Korean Conflict returning home in 1952. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a good neighbour to all. He loved the outdoors and violin music and took great pleasure in calling sets for square dances.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nettie (Campbell) Frost, six daughters, Wilma (Sam) Conrod, Whiteside CB; Wanda (Claude)Richard, Ottawa ON; Alice Frost (Steve LeLacheur) Louisdale, CB; Jean (Ambrose) Stone, Sydney, CB; Christene (Kenny) Timmons, Baddeck, CB; Maxine (Phil) Brown, Halifax NS, 2 sons, Leslie (Roberta) Frost, Lower Sackville, NS; Donald (Wanita) Frost, Kempt Road, CB. Very special to Harold were his 20 grandchildren, 1 step grandson, and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Alice (Bert) MacIntosh, Dundee,; Christena (Phil) MacInnis, St. George's Channel; Jean Buchanan Grand Anse and one brother George (Lizzie) Frost, Grand Anse.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter Isabelle and 3 brothers Alan “AC “ Frost, Joe Savoy and Dave Savoy and brother in law Bert Buchanan.
Cremation has taken place and a private committal service will be held at the Black River Cemetery at a later date. Anyone wishing to celebrate the life of Harold may drop in at the Frost home on January 31 from 2pm -8pm. Donations may be made to Palliative Care, Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, CB. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
