Greencorn, Earl Franklin Roosevelt, - 66, Half Way Cove, Guysborough County, passed away suddenly as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, September 8, 2012.
Earl was born in Half Way Cove, Guys Co., a son of the late Howard and Jane (Hendsbee) Greencorn. Earl retired from the Department of Transportation, as a heavy equipment operator 11 years ago and worked for Brian George Construction and Trucking. He was a former Fire Chief of the Chedabucto Volunteer Fire Dept for many years. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Half Way Cove.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 33 years, Muriel (Greencorn); daughters, Lucinda Greencorn (Paul DeGruchy), Havre Boucher; Kimberly (Derrick) MacLeod, Beach Point, PEI; son, Earl (Trudy), Cape Bear, PEI; brother, Clayton (Shirley), Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren, Darren and Morgan DeGruchy; Shelby and Abby MacLeod; Melissa and Noah Greencorn. He was predeceased by, son, Horace Arnold; brothers, Phillip, Elias, Arnold, Robert; sisters, Agnes, Margaret and Cecille.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 22, from St. James Anglican Church, Half Way Cove, with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial will be in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Half Way Cove.
