GRADY, Alice Catherine - 78, St. Francis Harbour, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital on March 27, 2007. Born in St. Francis Harbour, she was a daughter of the late William Joseph Carr and Theresa Ann Davidson.
Over the years she spent much of her time at the Grady Family Store in St. Francis Harbour. Alice was an active member of St. Francis Harbour Parish and Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of Bayveiw Seniors and Chedabucto Curling Club. Her hobbies, darts, curling and playing cards, brought out her spirited nature. Alice was our rock. She was a selfless mother, grandmother and friend. Her compassionate and inviting way attracted many.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Michael Grady; brother, Charles Carr, and sister, Florence Howden. She is survived by brother, Alton Carr (Edith), St. Francis Harbour, daughters, Joan Meagher (Frank MacPhee), St. Francis Harbour; Linda (Mike) Kavanaugh, Dartmouth; Karen (Lorne) Hall, Cathy (Kevin) Ryan, all of Calgary; Janice (Paul) Connally, Guysborough Intervale; Sharon Lee (Randy) Avery, Guysborough; sons, Dannie (Patsy), Greg (Charlene), Chuck (Janet), all of St. Francis Harbour; Steven (Karen), Halifax; Bruce, Edmonton; grandchildren, Mike, Maurice, Theresa, Lauren, Brenda , Dale, Alison, Jessie, Laura, Bridget, Michelle, Maria, Victoria, Johnathan, Magdelyn, Leann, Calum, Will, Oliver, Ryan, Carly and Liam, and great-grandchildren, Emma and Grady.
Her remains are resting in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough, with visiting 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4, 6-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Harbour Roman Catholic Church, Father Jude Nzekwe officiating.
