Grady Lewis Alexander-89, St. Francis Harbour, Guysborough Co. died Friday, September 29, 2006 at home.
Born in St. Francis Harbour he was a son of the late Augustus V. and Johanna(Carey) Grady. Lewis was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 81, Guysborough. He was employed with the CNR and later as a self employed trucker. He was a member of St. Francis parish, St. Francis Harbour.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Annie Diggins; daughters Annie(Jim) Peters, Pleasant Valley; Florence(Jim) Brown, Sarnia ON; Pat(Gary)Colter, Dartmouth; Darlene( David) Langille, Winnipeg MB: sons Bill(Oonagh), Kentville; Dan(Gloria) Port Hawkesbury; Walter, St. Francis Harbour; Alex(Donna), Dartmouth; Ron (Wanda), Prescott, ON; sisters Anna England, Port Hawkesbury; Mary Carter, Guysborough; a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother James.
Visitation will be 7-9 PM Sunday and after 2 PM on Monday at the family residence, 210 Carr Rd., St. Francis Harbour. Funeral mass 11 AM Tuesday, St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Jude Nzekwe officiating, burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
