Dear Sandy, Jeanne, Eddy and Mary, My heart aches for you. My Dad, who faithfully reads the obituaries, just told me that your Dad has passed away. I have such warm memories of being a teenager across the street and running over to bring some baking or garden flowers over to your Mom I was completely clueless about art, but even then was in awe of your Dad's talent. As an adult, I have often stopped at galleries and looked for his work, remembering him and the connection with all of you. May you be comforted, knowing that so many of us are praying for you.

Dear Sandy, Jean, Edwin, Mary Catherine and Families, Our sincere condolences on the loss of your father. He most certainly was a quiet giant in the Port Hawkesbury community and leaves a significant legacy. His obituary gave me great pause, as I realized that he and my mother were born only a month apart. It is so sad that time is robbing us of the formidable people who were so influential in our community when we were growing up. We are so grateful to Mr. Frank Wright that he dedicated so much of his time to generate so much beautiful art for us to enjoy forever and to impart on us the importance of the beauty of art. Sandy and the entire Wright Family. I was saddened to hear about the loss of your father. I remember as a kid, realizing this man who did such amazing paintings lived right in my own neighbourhood. To all of Franks Family. Anne-Marie and I are very saddened to hear of this wonderful man's passing. We were so very fortunate to have he and Louise as our next door neighbours in the Grey Mac apartments in 1969. At that time, I had already spent a number of years at sea and Frank was keenly interested is some of my stories. Little did we understand what an incredible talent Frank was. We shall never forget the pride in his voice and his face when he was to have his first showing at a museum in Halifax. His works will forever hang proudly in our home. I would like to send Condolences to All of Mr.Wrights Families.I recall of going to Their place when They lived in the GreyMac Apts with Mary Catherine up to Antigonish @ Her Aunt's place. Mr.Wright has now joined Mrs.Wrightin Heaven.I recall when She was in Hospital up here I went n visited Her many times.Actually just before She got transferred to St.Martha's I had fed Her Her dinner.Now They r All together again in Heaven.May Mr.Wright RIP.

Port hawkesbury has lost a bright light with the passing of Frank Wright. How proud we all were to claim Frank Wright as our own! An internationally acclaimed artist and at the same time one of the most humble people you could ever meet. He graciously allowed his name to be forever attached to our beautiful Art Gallery. Artists and artisans throughout Cape Breton showed their work at the J. Franklin Wright Art Gallery as did many students. Jack and I had a few occasions to be with Frank and his lovely, sweet wife, Louise. A wonderful, generous couple! Frank's signature always intrigued me but I didn't know why until I learned he had worked at the CN station. I used to take the train years ago and each time I bought a ticket, the agent spent what seemed like hours writing out the ticket. I would take note of his symmetry and evenness of all the letters. He obviously took great pride in doing even that job well and with pride. Years later I realized who he was and his signature is now on paintings all over the world. Sincere sympathy to Sandy and Edwin and siblings and families. Your father has left quite a legacy! And for that I say a heartfelt thank you.
