Melong, Marion Juanita - Age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017 in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough, surrounded by her family. Born in Sand Point, March 18, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Edna (Martin) England. Marion was a very elegant and stylish lady, friendly and kind to everyone she met. During her younger years she worked in many establishments in a managerial position. She loved country music and sang in St. Paul's, Havre Boucher Choir until Alzheimer's Disease took over her life. Marion had an infectious laugh that filled any room she was in. She loved to help out at community events such as variety concert luncheons and funeral lunches as well. Left behind to mourn her loss is her husband of 43 years, Charlie Melong, Havre Boucher; son, Ernest (Mary) Williams, Frankville; daughters, Patricia Fitzpatrick, Antigonish and Sherry (Michael), Abercrombie; stepchildren, Shirley, David, Rose, Marvin, Sandra and Darlene; grandchildren John, Matthew, and Kathleen Sequiera, sister, Pricilla Kavanaugh, Guysborough; brothers, Sidney (Anne) England, Grand Anse and Herman (Shirley) Charlos Cove and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a son in infancy, Kevin Williams, brother, Donald England and brother-in-law, Pat Kavanaugh. We would like to thank Dr. Ranjini as well as the staff at the Milford Haven Home, for their sincere compassion and kindness to Marion as well as her family during this difficult time. There will be no visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only please. A Mass of Christian Farewell will be celebrated in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Havre Boucher on Friday, January 6, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Allan MacPhie officiating; burial in the Parish Cemetery.
