KING, Annie Jessie -90, Port Hawkesbury, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late John Edward and Katie (MacLean) MacLean.
Annie worked in many establishments around the area. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Annie was very kind to strangers. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very important to her.
Surviving are her daughters, Judy Snow and Deanna Deane; sons, John Edward (Rose), Robbie, Sheldon (Sherry), Stephen (Lynn), Donnie (Jocelyn), Paul Allan and Glenn (Donna); sister, Johanna Repa; brother, John Hector MacLean; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; infant daughter, Juanita; son, Patrick; 3 sisters and 7 brothers.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Everett McDow officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to a charity of one’s choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
