LANGLEY, Fredrick William "Fred" - 72, Point Tupper, Richmond Co., passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Born in Point Tupper, June 24, 1937, he was a son of the late William and Margaret (King) Langley. Fred retired after being employed for 36 years with Stora Pulp and Paper, Point Tupper. Fred was a member of St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury, he was a 50 year member of Solomon Lodge No. 46, Port Hawkesbury, a member of the Point Tupper Heritage Association, he was President of Southbrook Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury, and he was a member of Communication Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada, Local 972. Fred was an avid Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marie (Olsen); daughters, Susan (Bruce Schnarr), Kitchener, Ont.; Patti (Scott) Robertson, Lunenburg; Bonnie, Tanya (Craig) MacLean, both of Point Tupper; Betty, Halifax; grandchildren, Leah, Andrew and Owen . He is also survived by his sisters, Marguerite (Carmen) Piscatello, Connecticut, USA; Hazel Fry, Port Hawkesbury; Gwen (Clint) Marble, Moncton, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Julia; brothers-in-law, Donald Fry and Arnold Cameron. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, with a Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m., both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Rev. Sheldon LeGrow officiating. Cremation to follow with burial in Southbrook Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Fred may be made to ROC Society- Shalom House, Port Hawkesbury.
