Gary played with the SAERC hockey team, Senior Pirates and with his close friends and soul mates the Old Timer "Rebels", and never gave up on his team, the Montreal Canadiens. He was an involved member in his community and business. He was very proud to have served a number of positions on the Inverness-Richmond InRich Society Board of Directors. A loving and deeply caring husband, father, son, brother, and brother-in-law, Gary will be forever remembered and very sadly missed by his lovely wife and best friend, Sheila (Cameron); cherished and deeply missed by his children, Bhreagh, Ashley and William; his loving and devoted mother, Norma Long-Murray (Jessie); sisters, Dorothy (Phil) Maxwell, Pennfield, N.B.; his faithful and guarding angel sister, Gloria Chafe (Richard Bonnet), Port Hawkesbury; Norma (Dieter) Oswald, Hammonds Plains; Debbie (John) Poirier, Port Hastings; Tracey (Roger) Harper, Newtown; brothers, Steve Long (Liz Porter), Waddie (Kim), and David (Pat Tompkins), all of Port Hawkesbury.
