HORTON, Constance Catherine "Connie" Harris - Age 80 years, of Canso passed into spirit on Thursday, May 2, 2019 surrounded by family and friends at Guysborough Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Constance, known as "Connie" to friends and family, was born in Boom Road to the late Margaret Marie Harris Sherrard on August 6, 1938. Connie is survived by her son, Todd, North Bay, ONÍž sister, Mrs. Omar Sherrard (Dawna), brother, Charlie Cain (Catherine), and sister, Mrs. Terry Flanagan (Paula) all of Boom Road, NB as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws, and friends. Connie was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd "Sonny" Horton, mother, Margaret and younger brother, Sterling "Tooie" Cain.
Connie worked as an office manager for many years in Toronto, retiring to the Maritimes in 1991. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking, collecting china and crystal and visiting with friends.
A very special thank you to the wonderful palliative care team in Guysborough for their loving care and support.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services for Connie will be officiated by dear family friend, Rev. David Wheeler, in Canso United Baptist Church, Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 2 p. m. Connie will be laid to rest at Bayview Baptist Cemetery, Half Island Cove. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canso United Baptist Church, 1238 Union Street, Canso, NS, B0H 1H0.
