HAWLEY, Olive Mae (MacLean) – 75, Port Hood, Inverness Co. passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday July 3, 2012, with family by her side. Born in Virden, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late John Murdock and Marion (Sproule) MacLean. Olive was a member of St. Peter’s Parish, Port Hood. Surviving are her daughters, Donna Mae (John) Beaton, Mount Uniake; Marlene, Port Hood; sons, Alex (Mary), Halifax; John Angus (Rose), Jerry (Diane), both of Port Hood; Danny (Heather), Hammonds Plains; Kevin (Colleen), Port Hood; Tommy (Colleen), New Glasgow; Clifford (Crystal), Donnie, both of Port Hood; sisters, Julia MacLean, Florence Spears, both of Orangedale; Ruth (Nute) MacPhail, Jonena MacLellan, both of Lake Ainslie; brother, Malcolm, Whycocomagh; 23 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 51years, John "Jackie" Hawley; brother, Daniel " Danny" MacLean. Visitation will be from 7-9pm Thursday and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday in the Port Hood and Area Resting Place. Funeral Mass will be 11am Saturday from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Hood, with Father Vincent van Zutphen officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, The Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Port Hood and Area Resting Place.
