It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Cheryl (MacIver) Smith on Monday, March 12, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish surrounded by her family. Born on January 5 1966 in North Sydney, she was the daughter of Georgina MacIver and the late Teddy MacIver.
She was raised in Port Hawkesbury, moved to Lake Ainslie when she married Rob in 1997. They later settled in Sugar Camp. Being a wife and mother was her greatest role in life, to which she was completely dedicated. Hannah and Hunter were her pride and joy.
Cheryl is survived by her best friend and husband, Rob; her children, Hannah and Hunter. Also surviving are her mother and stepfather, Georgina and Bob Shaw, her brothers, Glenn (Kim), Grant (Patty); her mother-in-law, Verna MacMillan, brothers-in-law, Vince (Krista), Allan (Maureen) MacMillan, and Mike Onotsky; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Teddy MacIver and her sister, Janice Onotsky.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday March 14 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral will be on Thursday March 15 from the United Baptist Church in Port Hawkesbury, at 11am with Rev. Jonathon London officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Canadian Diabetic Association or to the charity of your choice. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
