Peitzsche, Edith "Veronica" - Age 71 of Canso, Guysborough Co. The Family is sad to announce that Edith Veronica Peitzsche died peacefully on Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital, after a strong battle with brain cancer. Veronica was born in Antigonish; she was a daughter of the late William A. Chisholm and Gladys (Spooner) Chisholm. Veronica was a long time resident of Canso, after graduating from St. Francis Xavier University to become a beloved teacher for over 4 decades in the Canso Area. She loved to cook, read, go for walks with her friends, watch hockey and play cards. She volunteered in the community for many years and always put others before herself. She was pre-deceased by her aforementioned parents; sisters, Nancy and Cecilia "Teddy" and brothers, Johnny and Alexander "Sandy". She is survived by her husband, Ronald; daughter, Tiffany; son, Tim (Kimberley); her beloved grandson, Reece who meant everything in the world to her; sisters, Evelyn (Donnie); Margaret (Marvin); Jean and brother, Wilfred (Pauline). Visitation to be held on Friday, January 6 from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso for family and friends. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 7 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Heatherton with Father Gary MacPherson officiating.
