WHEATON, Rose Irene- Age 71, Port Hastings, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Inverness, she was a daughter of the late Louis Oliver and Rose Ellen (MacIntyre) Davis. Irene worked for the former A.E.C.L in Point Tupper and retired from the Whycocomagh Provincial Park where she worked for many years as a park attendant. Surviving Irene is her husband of 45 years, Albert; daughter, Lindsay, Port Hastings; grandson, Kaden Wheaton. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday from St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings with Nan Corrigan DM officiating. Burial will follow in St. David’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in Irene’s memory may be made to St. David’s United Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
