Johnston, Kenneth George - age 60 years of Canso, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Cold Lake, Alberta, he was a son of the late William "Bill" and Margaret "Peg" (Fleming) Johnston. He spent most of his life in Port Hawkesbury. He was a fisherman and loved nothing more than being on the water. Surviving are his children, Robert 'Bob' (Audrey) Johnston; Julie (Chad) Johnston and Dana Dorton; grandchildren, Tyler, Bailey, Emma, Alexis, Brianne and Jackson; siblings, Gordon (Freda) Johnston, Heather (Donnie) Broome, Joyce Johnston and Nancy (Kevin) Stewart; nieces and nephews, Juanita, Tracy, John, Jason, Chris, Rachel, Shawna, Terry, Corey and Chloe; also his special fishing buddy, Blake Fougere. Kenneth was predeceased by parents, William "Bill" and Margaret "Peg" (Fleming) Johnston; brother, John "Jack" Johnston Sr.; and infant niece, Tracey Broome. In keeping with Kenneth’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service and burial to be held at a later date.
