Smith, Linda Ann - age 49, Port Hawkesbury. Passed away suddenly at home on Monday, April 6, 2015. Born in North Sydney, on January 26, 1966, she was a daughter of the late Timothy "Tim" and Blanche (Morgan) Whitty. Linda loved music, singing and playing the guitar. Linda also loved to writing poems, cooking, baking. She was a very happy, strong, fun loving person who will be dearly missed. Her daughter Kristin and her had a great relationship, they did have their ups and downs; but it’s the positive times that count. Linda is survived by her daughter, Kristin Smith (Bernie MacIntyre), Long Stretch Road; son, Justin (Kayla) Miller, Ottawa; sisters, Camilla (Wayne) Kew; Jean Bell; Helen MacLean; brothers, Gus (Verna); Timmy (Wanda); Percy (Kim); granddaughter whom she loved so much, Breilla Smith and grandson, Emmit Miller, numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her sister, Jaqueline (Whitty) Marsh and brother in infancy, Joseph. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today (Thursday), with a vigil service at 6 p.m. both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Linda to St. Joseph Cemetery Fund, Port Hawkesbury.
