MacIntosh, Keith Allison - Age 83, Port Shoreham, Guysborough Co. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Keith Allison MacIntosh, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Born on September 11, 1931 in Port Shoreham, he was a son of late Harold Jared MacIntosh (of Port Shoreham), and the late Kathleen Fields (of Lorneville). A kind and gentle man with a keen intellect and strong moral fibre, he was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and the beloved older brother of 8 siblings. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Verna Claire MacIntosh (Sams) of New Haven, his son, Daryl (Sao), Surrey, B.C.; his daughter, Lynda, Mississauga, Ont.; grandsons, Ryan and Dylan, Surrey, B.C.; Colin Holmstrom (Sarah), Calgary, Alta.; grand-daughter, Katherine Allison, Mississauga, Ont.; and first great-grandson, Jeremy, Calgary, Alta; sisters, Hope Wright and Karen Dort (Joe), Guysborough, Bertie Ehler (Percy), Georgetown, Ont.; Luella Grady, Fort McMurray, Alta.; brothers, Carl MacIntosh (Carol) and Floyd Grady, Port Shoreham and Fen. Pre-deceased by brother, Freddy MacIntosh and brothers-in-law, Earl Wright, Lloyd Billard and Sandy Sams. Keith was a mechanic by trade, leaving his home in Nova Scotia to work in Ontario for some 30 years but it was with one foot always firmly planted in the village of Port Shoreham where he retired in 1992. With a keen love of "things that move" he managed to realize his dream of owning and flying a small plane, a Piper Warrior, which he called his metal mistress, a sail boat to ply the waters of Chedabucto Bay, and managed to share a sailing trip to Newfoundland and the Magdalene Islands. He embraced technology and used the internet extensively for all it had to offer. His IPad was a constant companion. An eclectic collector, Keith leaves behind a vast array of musical instruments, tractors, small boats, and a 33 x 40 foot workshop packed with parts of his life that will give us all reasons to laugh and cry in the months ahead. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 2 p.m. in Boylston United Church. Burial will follow in Manchester Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in Boylston Community Hall. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough.
