Marshall, Mary Margaret "Marg" -Port Hawkesbury, age 88. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret Marshall in Strait Richmond Hospital,Evanston, Wednesday, September 24, 2014.
Born in Mabou, January 31, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Allan and Margaret (Gillis) MacDonald. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward "Ted" of 58 years; sons, Brent (Deanna), Halifax; twins, Kevin and Keith, both of Port Hawkesbury; daughters, Donna, Dartmouth and Karen (Albert), Port Hawkesbury; 9 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren; sisters, Mary Belle Fontaine, Inverness and Helena MacDonald, Mabou. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Alex, John and John Allan, and sister, Elizabeth.
She will be forever remembered for her open house, her amazing cooking, her love of the fiddle, and her selfless generosity and love.
A special thank you to the paramedics and the nurses at Strait Richmond Hospital for their care and compassion.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, September 26, 2014 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, from where the funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m., Saturday September 27, with Father Hughie D. MacDonald officiating. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
